Consider this, old friend —
This physical world is but a mirage.
a play of shimmering light
upon the surface of an infinite sea.
Maybe… just maybe,
all that you see
is not what it appears to be.
When the veil thins
and the illusion begins to crack,
you see the stage for what it is
the players reciting their lines,
the actors lost in scripts
they never wrote.
The trinkets, the whistles, the bells —
they lose their shine.
The little game of wanting, having, becoming
no longer calls you.
For everything here is fleeting
a breath, a glimmer,
a soap bubble rising, dazzling… dissolving.
We chase the next one, and the next —
believing the mirage to be real
until the desert wind of truth
shatters it again and again.
Reality—unchanging, uncreated —
waits patiently behind the mask of being this...or that.
It teaches by dissolving all that isn’t real,
by waking us from the hypnosis of becoming.
Stop chasing shadows, old friend.
Be still.
For when the hypnotic dream dissolves,
what remains is Presence —
the stillness behind all motion,
the light behind all forms.
There—in that unshaken peace —
the real you is revealed.
